My email address or telephone number is not being accepted
Please make sure that your email address has no spaces before or after it and do not enter your country dialling code as part of your telephone number. If you find that it is still not allowing you to save your mobile number, it might be that your profile does not have your citizenship captured: in order to rectify this, kindly log a ticket with our FICA team so they can assist.
Do I need a tax number to open an account?
No, you don't. If you do not have a tax number please deselect the tick box and fill out the "reason" field (i.e you're a student etc.)
Do I need to upload documents?
If you are an individual over the age of 18 you do not need to upload any documents when you open an account. Sometimes our automated checks require us to get in touch with you to request certain documents but we'll let you know everything you'll need to submit if we require any further details.
Why do you need my bank account details?
EasyEquities allows you to set up recurring investments via a debit order, so in order to do so we'll need to make sure that we have your bank account details. We'll also need your bank account details when you meet those investment goals and are looking to withdraw your money. Asking for them now will just make everything Easy later.
Why do I only have a USD account?
The ZAR, TFSA and RA account types are only available to users who are residents of South Africa and the Common Monetary Area (Namibia, Lesotho and Eswatini). See this FAQ for more information on how to open up an account if you're a foreign national.
What does DPIP/FPPO mean?
While registering you may notice a field that asks you to identify if you are a Foreign Prominent Public Official or a Domestic Prominent Influential Persons. If you’re not entirely sure what these terms mean, we’ve unpacked the definitions for you here.
